Hi, my name is Lizzy Keen.
I'm a freelance journalist and copywriter who graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Communications (Journalism and Spanish) and a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) in 2015.
Through a lifelong love of reading and language, I've come to be a writer with a special interest in culture, travel and social politics.
In the last three years, I've been a principal writer for, and contributor to, Zarraffa's Coffee Grind Magazine, Pindara Magazine, Blank GC, Independent Australia and Foam Symmetry, among others. I'm a regular contributor to Sunshine Coast-based travel and outdoor living magazine Frontier Journal, and international travel site Global Hobo.
I also speak advanced-intermediate Spanish.
When I'm not busy reading or highlighting impressive sentences, I'm surfing or practicing yoga.
Check out my current travel blog, The Peanut Chronicles, which follows my yearlong trip halfway around the world, which started in Bali, Indonesia.
Copywriting – Nude Creative 2014-2015
As the copywriter at Nude Creative, a boutique marketing and publishing company on the Gold Coast, I was responsible for producing succinct, creative and professional copy for print and online.
As well as consistently producing quality content for various lifestyle and health publications – from event promotion material to restaurant reviews – it was my job to:
- Design social media content
- Create engaging, industry-specific copy for marketing collateral
- Write regular blog posts for clients
- Write topical and engaging company blog posts
- Research and pitch article ideas to clients
- Contribute to marketing plans
- Carry out market research
I do not claim to have produced the design, images or artwork featured in each 'Published Work' item.
I only claim ownership of the written content. The layouts appear as they were published in print or online. Refer to title for publication.
